Dr. Heidi Anderson, M.D.
Born and raised in New York, Anderson earned a B.S. degree in Biology at Stony Brook University on Long Island and in 1993 graduated with honors from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. While doing her internship and residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, she met and married her husband, Scott. Their careers took them west to Whitewater, Wisconsin where Dr. Anderson practiced Family Medicine for a large multi-specialty group for seven years. It was there they started their family. Her rare fellowship in home births ended early when her husband was transferred back to his home state of Minnesota in 2003.
Currently a board certified Family Physician, in practice since 1997, she is certified in the use of Botox and injectable fillers, in the use of cosmetic lasers, member of ASLMS, an international laser society.
It is this experience and skills which Dr. Anderson brings to us as our visiting Physician Injector. She specializes in the injection of Botox to remove wrinkles in the forehead, crow's feet and frown lines. She injects fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm for filling in deep lines and wrinkles from the nose to the corner of the mouth (nasolabial folds), from the mouth to the jaw line (marionette lines) and for wrinkles around the mouth and enlarging lips. She'll also be offering non-surgical fat removal, called Lipodissolve, in the near future.
Dr. Anderson strongly believes that everyone is born with passions and gifts that are manifested through them. One of her passions is natural childbirth. She believes that natural birth is a woman's right that has often been compromised by unnecessary medical intervention over the past several decades. Although her fellowship in homebirths ended early, her passion did not. After having her first child born through c-section, she went on to have a second homebirth, and a third who was born nine and one half pounds, feet first in her bathtub.
As she passed forty, Dr Anderson started seeing changes in her face and body that she always thought she would accept gracefully. As a very busy working Mom with barely enough time for a shower, laser hair removal was her introduction to the medical/cosmetic industry. While currently working as a Family Physician with a large following of families who choose homebirth, Dr. Anderson has found a new passion. She thoroughly enjoys helping women feel better about themselves. Having so much in common with them makes it a joy for her. Her latest crusade is encouraging mothers who have been giving so much of themselves to the people around them, to give a give back to themselves. Botox and injectable fillers are a great gift that gently turn back the hands of time.
