As many of you know, I recently said goodbye to my long locks and opted for a lighter fresh style, a lob (long bob). It’s a style that I’ve worn many times in the past due to the nature of my naturally thin and fine hair. It just works. I’ve had so much happiness in rocking the long hair life for the past couple of years, but it was time for a break. Can I tell you something really awesome about the new do? It takes me 5 minutes to dry my hair!!! I had forgotten that delightful detail.
Having shorter hair requires a different styling routine and I wanted to share my most favorite products that have been on my A list since getting the cut. I continue telling myself that shorter hair can be super glam!
My lifestyle requires frequent hair washing, so we will start there. Between the gym and riding, it’s pretty much an everyday thing.
Kevin Murphy Plumping Wash and Rinse
This is a great everyday shampoo and conditioner for thickening and strengthening hair like mine that is thin and fine.

A delicate recovery shampoo for fine, dry or broken hair A delicate moisturizing conditioner for fine, dry, colored hair.
Kevin Murphy Detox – 1 X per week
Get out those toxins and exfoliate. I make sure to use this once a week to get environmental JUNK out.
SIMONSON’S SAYS: Perfect for detoxing, purifying and removing buildup on your hair and scalp. Apply on your scalp & hair but do not scrub. Leave on for 1 minute then rinse for the ultimate “pre-wash” shampoo to help maximize other hair product benefits.
Morocconoil Hydrating Styling Cream
A leave-in styling cream that sets the stage for smooth, hydrated and frizz-free hair. Infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil. Tames frizz and flyaways. Soft-hold formula conditions and prepares hair for styling. I put a dime-size amount into my hair before drying avoiding my scalp/roots. You can also use it for air-dried styles.
Olaplex Bonding Oil
Highly concentrated, ultra-lightweight, reparative styling oil for all hair types and textures. Protects Colors, Fights Frizz, and Provides Heat Protection. I use this on my ends.
SIMONSON’S SAYS: To apply, turn the bottle upside down and gently tap your index finger on the bottom of the bottle to dispense a metered drop. Apply to dry or damp hair to minimize frizz and fly-aways.
Pulp Riot Toussle Spray
This is one of my newest favorite products! It is a perfect lightweight hold for post curling “bounce”. LOVE it.
Kevin Murphy Young Again Dry Conditioner
Hydrate your ends and give your hair a healthy silky finish. It just really makes my hair tame and smooth without weight. I love how it finishes my style – its the final product that gives it that polish. Another new-found game changer.
