What your hair says about you

The way we choose to present ourselves is our way of communicating who we are or how we feel about ourselves. The way we choose to act is a representation of not only who we are, but how we feel about other people. Let’s keep in mind that actions speak louder than appearances, but focus for now on what our appearances say about us.

What does your hair color, cut or style say about you? What are you trying to express with your hair color, cut or style?

According to a Lifescript.com post by Carly Young, different hair colors suggest certain personality traits.

Red: Either perceived as feisty, opinionated and seductive or considered to have more of a plain and simple appearance. The key to looking great as a redhead is having the ‘right’ red color for you. Because red is so rare, redheads tend to stand out in a crowd.

Black: Tough and exotic. Remember if you rock black hair, you should using shine products to keep it from appearing dull.

Brunette: Responsible and the stereotypical ‘good girl.’ To play up boring brown, add subtle highlights or lowlights that complement your brown color to keep a natural look.

Blonde: Often thought of as sexy, not very serious and stereotyped as high maintenance. Interestingly, our eyes are drawn to lighter shades, making blondes stand out.

I want this post to be a dialogue between all of you. So, my question to you is…what do you think your hair says about you OR what do you want it to say about you?

To make it easier for you, I will volunteer to answer first. I believe that my short blonde hair communicates my personality, which is very light-hearted, energetic and outgoing. My hair is naturally curly and I spend each day flat ironing it with my ghd styler. I have a simple style so I think straight hair is more fitting for my style than curly hair.

Okay, now it’s your turn…(comment below)
